Our hand knits are made to handle any adventure, but like all things they do need a little TLC from time to time. Below you will find our recommended care instructions to help keep your knits looking fresh for years to come!

100% Merino wool needs a little extra love when it comes to cleaning. To hand-wash your knitwear:

  1. Fill a clean sink or bucket with lukewarm water. Make sure it’s not too hot or your wool might shrink. I like to err on the side of cold water to be safe.

  2. Add gentle wool detergent. I’m a fan of Soak – it’s eco-friendly and you don’t have to worry about rinsing.

  3. Gently squeeze and soak your knit. Be careful not to wring out your wool as this can cause damage to the yarn and shape.

  4. When you’re ready, remove your knitwear and give it another gentle squeeze to remove water before laying it flat onto a towel.

  5. Roll it up to press out even more water.

  6. Lay your knitwear flat onto a fresh towel or blocking mat to dry.

**Only wash your knitwear when it’s really dirty. Wool is antibacterial and antimicrobial, so it doesn’t need to be washed as often as your regular everyday clothing.**
